Akufo-Addo approves creation of Anlo District by Executive OrderPresident Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has signed the Executive Instrument for the creation Anlo District out of the Keta Municipality, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister, Kofi Dzamesi, has said. According to Kofi Dzamesi, this singular move to create a District for the Anlo Constituency would help accelerate development in the area. The President, he added, has also signed another Executive Instrument to declare Keta, a harbour enclave, reiterating the President's commitment to delivering on his campaign promise to build a harbour in Keta. |

Explosive found in vicinity of deputy minister's residence; security meeting underwaySecurity forces in the Ashanti Region say they have defused a 'powerful explosive' found in the vicinity of the deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Andy Osei Okrah's residence in Kumasi. Luv FM's Erastus Asare Donkor reported the planted explosive was close to the National Security Data Centre which is located at Danyame, a suburb of Kumasi. At least, 15 security operatives made up of military officers, armed police and national security officers have taken control of the area searching other likely explosives. |

Expansion of electoral college cost NDC 2016 – Alex SegbefiaFormer Health Minister in the erstwhile National Democratic Congress government, Alex Segbefia says the decision by the party leadership to expand its electoral college, is partly to blame for the embarrassing defeat the party suffered in the 2016 elections. The NDC with sitting President John Mahama lost massively in both the presidential and parliamentary elections held on December 7.
