NDC opens Wuogon nomination process

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations for the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary primary ahead of the by-election.

The Functional Executive Committee (FEC), acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee (NEC), notified the constituency executives in the constituency to open the nomination process in accordance with Article 41 of the NDC’s Constitution, a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketia said.

Picking of nomination forms starts from today, Monday 17 to 18 December 2018.

The filing of nomination will be on Friday, 21 December 2018. Vetting will be on Saturday, 22 December 2018 and the election will be on Friday, 28 December 2018.

The cost of nomination forms and filing fee is GHS1,000 and GHS10,000, respectively, with a 50 per cent discount for females and persons with disability.

The Ayawaso West Wuogon seat became vacant following the death of the MP for the area, Mr Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
