A former Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Ken Dzirasah says it will be difficult for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to market former President John Mahama to voters in his bid to be re-elected President in 2020.
According to him, the difficulty in marketing Mahama stems from the NDC losing the 2016 elections which has informed his (Dzirasah's) decision to back Professor Joshua Alabi for the contest.
As a result, Mr Dzirasah says he and fellow NDC stalwart Ambassador Victor Gbeho have thrown their weight behind Professor Alabi's campaign, describing him as the fresh face the NDC needs to unseat the New Patriotic Party.
"I would want to say that after several reflections about the way forward for the National Democratic Congress, myself and my big brother Ambassador Gbeho conducted a few investigations and came to the conclusion that the most marketable personality that could carry us into the year 2020 as a flagbearer is Professor Joshua Alabi," Mr Dzirasah said in an interview with Citi FM.
"We have found in the man a personality that has all it takes, his achievements, his attitude towards the party and a host of other things. Another fact of the matter is that we need to market somebody that can take us for eight years without so we came to that conclusion".. . .
