Donald Trump has sparked a fresh furore by calling on Hillary Clinton’s security detail to disarm and “see what happens to her”.
Presidential candidates are heavily protected by armed Secret Service agents at all times.
“I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons,” Mr. Trump, the Republicans’ presidential nominee, said at a rally on Friday night in Miami.
“I think they should disarm. Immediately. What do you think. Yes? Take their guns away. She doesn’t want guns. Take them. Let’s see what happens to her. Take their guns away, O.K. It will be very dangerous.”
His remarks came just over five weeks after he appeared to suggest that his Democratic opponent could be assassinated by disgruntled gun owners.
Mr Trump’s made his latest provocative remarks a matter of hours after defusing another controversy, finally abandoning his long-standing claim that Barack Obama was not born in the United States.....
